Yet, whether you’re CEO or climbing the corporate ladder, what you’re doing today isn’t what you’ll do forever.
Humans buy from humans. Jobs and gigs are filled through personal referrals. But no one can know what you’re capable of if you aren’t sharing it. And chances are, your LinkedIn profile isn’t doing you any favors.
Sometimes it feels like you’re living a double life, sharing different parts of you based on where you are and who you’re talking to—stuck in that vortex of no longer identifying with what people know you for but unsure how to gain the reputation you desire.
And you definitely haven’t Googled yourself lately… because you don’t want to know what shows up. But other people are. Of course they are. And they’re making assumptions about what you’re up to and open to based on what they find online.
What if there was a better way? A tool that supported your evolution and made the connection between where you’ve been and where you’re going.
A 6-week guided program for multifaceted people who want to connect the dots between their experiences and show up online as they do in person.
Free yourself from shape shifting and shift the conversation from “what do you do?” to “who are you?” along the way.
I’ve partnered with Squarespace design experts to create stunning and streamlined websites full of color, depth, and ways to tell your story. Think custom without the drawn out process or high price tag. We’ve taken what others view as an afterthought (hint hint: timeline and career highlights) and built everything around them. The result: an online home that’s as easy to navigate as it is on the eyes.
Sure, Presence will help you get that “I want what she’s got” reaction. But this isn’t about positioning yourself for the consumption of others. It’s about carving out a space where you can simply be yourself, without pretense or apology. Think of this as your cover story moment. A chance to pull back the curtain and invite people in.
“I really needed clarity and to get a bit more concise with the long winded story of how I developed my business and help pulling out the best pieces for a podcast pitch. Now I don't need to think twice when someone wants a bio (always the hardest to write about yourself!).”
Don’t you worry. Presence is a live, guided experience designed for people who are experts in their field, not
in promoting themselves. I’ll walk you through each step needed to find your throughline, edit down your thoughts, and craft your personal website.
And really it’s not about the site. I mean, it is. But it’s also not.
You could purchase a template today, snag your domain name and get to work. But what do you do with that template? How do you decide what pages you need? And how do you keep it from looking like a jigsaw puzzle?
Presence helps you troubleshoot and avoid the decision fatigue that comes with navigating the endless
options out there. We’ve done the research, edited down, and removed the cringe factor that comes with showing up as the main event.
“You helped me not only discover my voice, but uncover and clarify my purpose and mission in what I'm doing.”
Presence was created for those of us who are multidimensional, have a desire to be seen and heard, want to showcase our contributions, and often find ourselves chasing a new idea.
This program might be for you if you’re:
You’re planning to exit a company, join a board, or start something new. You want to show you’re ready for your next chapter or challenge and want to make the case as clearly as possible.
You’ve got a distinct way of seeing the world and feel your thought leadership emerging. You’ve excelled in your field or community and want to rise above marketing tactics to make a mark.
You’re an independent consultant, freelancer, or founder. As a multi-hyphenate who’s capable of a lot, you need a way to bring it together in a way that makes sense to others.
Is there a payment plan available?
Yes. You can choose to pay in full or submit a non-refundable deposit of $749 when registering. You’ll be responsible for the additional payments during the program.
What if I don’t want a personal brand?
Not everyone needs a personal platform. But if you’re holding back because you think it means something about you to have a personal brand, please listen to this episode of my podcast, Resentfully Yours, where I talk about this myth in depth. If you want a place that allows you to show up as yourself, share as you evolve, and create freely, whether you call it a personal brand or not…it’s probably for you.
I’m an entrepreneur and need to share my services. Would one of your templates work for me?
Absolutely. The distinction we like to make is that Presence can be helpful for those who want to share a variety of ways to work with them, but not as helpful if you want to create a site that pigeon holes you into one thing. Presence website templates are completely customizable (including the navigation and page names) and have been built to generate trust in your background, approach, and perspective. They tend to work best if you’re looking to share the various ways to work with you, not a long page or marketing funnel.
Where are the websites hosted?
Your website will be hosted on Squarespace version 7.1. While our templates are built to require very little in the way of editing and customization, we’ve found that Squarespace is one of the most friendly platforms to build, edit, and maintain on your own. Your annual Squarespace hosting plan is not included with registration, but we can provide you with a code for 20% off.
How much time will this take?
This will differ depending on your goals and how much thought you’ve already put into your online presence. At minimum, you’ll need to carve out an hour each week for the four program calls. Once you select your web kit and template, you’ll also need to add your own content and photos to the site, which can take between 5-20+ hours to complete.
When does the program begin?
Presence will begin on Monday, January 9, 2023 and meet weekly for four weeks. If you register by December 1, 2022, you’ll be invited to attend a special kick-off session in mid-December.
What about my domain name?
Purchasing your domain name (URL) is easy and quite inexpensive. I recommend Namecheap for purchasing your domains. If you’ve already purchased your domain name, we’ll help link it to your site.
Can you build a custom site for me?
Pattern of Purpose takes on a limited number of custom projects each year. These are best for those who need strategy, photography, copy, design, and development and are available to be involved throughout the entire process. Custom sites generally take 8-12 weeks to complete and, depending on your needs, run $15,000+. Please contact us to discuss your needs if this is something you’re interested in.
I can’t make this round. When will you offer it again?
